Men of Steel 2024 Renewal Summit Rear View Mirror

This year’s Piedmont Men of Steel Renewal Summit was a wonderful time of fellowship and worship as we rallied together to encourage one another to grow stronger in the Lord. Our speaker, Jonathan Lotz, gave a series of messages in conjunction with this year’s theme of Forged By Fire.

Jonathan delivered three messages about men from the Bible being forged in different ways by fires similar to those that we face today, trials involving issues of pride, faith, shame, and of courage. The key passages highlighted were the story of King Naaman from the book of 2nd Kings in chapter 5, the story of Zaccheus the tax collector from the book of Luke in chapter 19, and the story of the trial by literal fire of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego from the book of Daniel in chapter 3.

In addition to the messages, we also had the pleasure of being led into worship both days by the New Life at Hocutt worship band who performed exceptionally and who enjoyed the weekend sharing in fellowship with us. We also had breakout sessions mid-day on Saturday in which the men got together in small groups and shared their own experiences with being forged by trials into men of God.

Special thanks to Tammy Pike, Nancy Lamm, Norma Newton, and several ladies from Cornerstone Community Church in Saxapahaw who volunteered to serve and kept our men lovingly well nourished. Also a special thank you to Christian Bible Fellowship for the use of their facility as well as their ongoing support of our ministry.

Here are some reflections from Men of Steel who attended this year’s Renewal Summit:

“It was beautiful and refreshing to see the word of God shared with love and strength. I felt an emboldening of my spirit as well as a sense of weighty responsibility to take what I heard and share it with people who may feel adrift. It was also refreshing to be in a place where I wasn’t afraid to lay down my struggles and be vulnerable with people I knew cared about me.”

“It was powerful to walk alongside so many kindred men in the path Jesus made for us. Together, we sang, we worshipped, we listened, and we prayed. We left the 2024 Renewal Summit reborn with a greater spiritual life within us.”
