The Wages and The Gift

The Wages and The Gift

Men of Steel 3-11-24

This week at Men of Steel, brother Aaron Moger led us in a message on the book of Romans from chapter six, verse 23. This passage is about our human separation from God and how Jesus allows us to reconcile by way of accepting the free gift of salvation given when He died on the cross to pay for the cost of our sin. The word sin comes from an old archery term and means simply to miss the target. When you think of it this way, you could sin completely by accident. Sin doesn’t mean you’re a terrible and worthless person, it just means that you’re less than perfect, that you miss the mark of perfection. This describes all of us. It’s how we’re born. But through the salvation that Jesus provides, we can be made perfect through Him and return to God. This is a free gift, not earned or purchased. It was given not because we deserve it but because God loves us. And by believing in God and the salvation He provides, we are able to receive the gift of forgiveness and come back into perfect harmony with God.

Join us tonight and tomorrow for the Men of Steel annual Renewal Summit at Christian Bible Fellowship in Gibsonville, North Carolina. Tonight’s session starts at 7:00 PM and breakfast tomorrow will be served at 7:30 AM.

Romans 6:23 says:

"For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord."
