Sacrifice: Honoring Our Veterans

We celebrated Veterans’ Day honoring the veterans among our membership and many guest veterans with a steak dinner. We then opened our meeting with a full color guard flag ceremony followed by prayer and pledge. Next we allowed all veterans present to introduce themselves and the military branch they served under. Following this, we observed some stories, videos and music of service members honoring their service and contributions to defending our country. Finally, we had a moment to honor KIA and MIA veterans lost in foreign conflict, those who made the ultimate......

The Temple

Tonight brother Aaron led the men in a message from a passage in the book of Haggai about the state of the temple of the Lord in Israel and how it reflected the condition of their hearts. Because the temple was in a state of disarray, Israel received a curse instead of a blessing. We compared the ways that our own lives are a reflection of the condition of our hearts and how the world sees Jesus through us when your temple is in order. Haggai 1:9-109. You hoped for rich harvests,......

A Night of Prayer

Men of Steel 8-25-25 This evening at Men of Steel, our brother Aaron led the men in a guided night of prayer where we shared our cares with The Lord openly together. Pray is based on I Peter 2:9, Repent is based on II Chronicles 7:14, Ask is based on I John 5:14-15, and Yield is based on Isaiah 55:8-9. Pray, I Peter 2:9But you are not like......

Sin and Anxiety

Men of Steel 8-4-25 Brother Jim Pike led the men this evening in a word on how different kinds of sin can lead to stress and anxiety. Causes such as sinful living, worrying about uncertainty, careless living, and seeking the easy path in life can distract your attention from God and thereby discourage and rob us of our faith and joy. Inversely, when we give our cares over to the Lord and live by His instructions, we can find relief from the stress and anxiety caused by sin. Genesis 3:7-107. At that......

Remorse vs Regret

In addition to scriptures, Greg referenced a quote from CS Lewis on the nature of repentance as a denial of self interest. II Corinthians 7:10For the kind of sorrow God wants us to experience leads us away from sin and results in salvation. There’s no regret......

Blessed Assurance

Referencing the story of the possessed man in Mark 5, Steve compared the symptoms of depression to the negative influence of demonic possession and the supernatural connections between emotional and spiritual depression. He exhorted the men to seek God’s love when facing struggles like depression. Medicine can make you feel better for a time, but it’s the love of God that has the power......
