Men of Steel 8-25-25

This evening at Men of Steel, our brother Aaron led the men in a guided night of prayer where we shared our cares with The Lord openly together. In conjunction, Aaron used a scripture-based framework to structure the prayer sessions based on the handy acronym PRAY meaning Praise, Repent, Ask, and Yield. Pray is based on I Peter 2:9, Repent is based on II Chronicles 7:14, Ask is based on I John 5:14-15, and Yield is based on Isaiah 55:8-9.

Pray, I Peter 2:9
But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.

Repent, II Chronicles 7:14
Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.

Ask, I John 5:14-15
14. And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him.  15. And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for.

Yield, Isaiah 55:8-9
8. “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord.  “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.”  9. “For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.”
