Testimony: Is God Real?

Men of Steel 7-14-25
Mike Garrison gave his testimony to the men this evening. In it, he described his life in and around church going through the motions until he reached a critical turning point where he asked himself for the first time whether he believed God is real. Through reading the Word of God and pursuing fellowship with other Christians, Mike was able to find the answers to his questions and come to salvation and relationship with the very real and true living God.

Romans 5:6-11 NLT
6. When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners. 7. Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good. 8. But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. 9. And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation. 10. For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son. 11. So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God.
I John 1:5-10 NLT
5. This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all. 6. So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth. 7. But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.
8. If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. 9. But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. 10. If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts.
