Aug. 1, 2016 – Jim Pike – Wrestling with God
by admin
Brother Jim Pike, Director of the Lower Alamance chapter of Men of Steel taught on August 1, 2016 at the Burlington meeting. Jim opened by reading Genesis 32:22-32 which tells the story of the time when Jacob wrestled with God. Jim challenged the men at the meeting to think about what in our lives we wrestle with God about. Jim shared stories about stubbornness, anger, aging and physical decline. He asked us to consider what we were holding on to that was keeping us from God’s blessings. “Examine yourselves” Brother Pike told the men (2 Corinthians 13:5), “be aware of your wrestling … hate, wrath, lust, unforgiveness, etc. and submit it to God. He can conquer those things and give you victory!”
